Packing List for Four Months in SE Asia

At the time of writing this it is 1.5 days before my departure to SE Asia with a quick stop in Hong Kong on the way. I will be traveling all over SE Asia for about four months and documenting the entire journey as I go. I wanted to share what clothing and supplies I have packed to take with me. You can also check out my Camera/Film-making Gear list if you are interested.

Note: In this post you will see links to products on amazon. I use amazon to buy most all my supplies and figure it may be helpful to share them with you. Using these links to purchase or even just view the product helps me continue to pursue this dream.

I am packing very light on clothing. I have read that it is very cheap to get your clothes washed, as well as buy anything you may need. It is much better to pack too light on clothing than too much. Here are the clothes I decided to pack with me and this might even be too much. All of my clothes are divided using packing cubes.

The backpack I am using is the Osprey Fairpoint 55 liter travel backpack (https://amzn.to/2VuVNX1). This is one of the best rated and most reviewed backpacks I could find. It has a detectable day-bag that can be zipped off with ease. The bag unzips all the way making it pack almost like a suitcase. I love this because it makes it easy for me to get to all of my things. Another awesome thing about this bag is its ability to conceal the back straps and use the side handle as a suitcase. This also makes it easy for stowing away and not having to worry about the straps getting caught on anything. When I want to go light for the day I can just unzip the day-bag, fill it with what I need for the day and go. I made sure to get a reliable bag because it is such a crucial item when traveling. I will essentially be living out of it for the next 4 months!

When I return from my adventure I will write about what I should have brought and what I shouldn’t have brought with me.
