My Review of the Movi Cinema Robot by FreeFly Systems

I have been looking for a quality mobile phone stabilizer for a while now, and almost went for the DJI Osmos mobile until I came across the Movi Cinema robot. Take a look at a short film I made using an iPhoneX + Moment wide angle lens and the Movi cinema robot.

This video was the second time I used the stabilizer and first time using the lens. It is so intuitive and very easy to setup. The clamp for holding your phone is simple and even locks into place when you are not using it. My favorite part of the design is that it was built to also be used with two hands not just one providing more stability when needed. It also has a flat base so it can be set down in a number of places and even a mount to attach to a tripod. The app that works with the Movi is also top notch. It was the highest rated app for all the mobile stabilizers I looked at and I would have to agree with my use so far. In the video you will see the following built-in features: Movi lapse, time lapse, echo, and barrel roll. The app has built in videos that teach you how to use each feature which also include a few other features I did not use in the video. This is definitely a tool I would recommend to anyone looking to step up their mobile film making. It’s also something that I see myself using as the mobile phones continue to improve. FreeFly is a company that is known for their Hollywood production stabilizers and they sure brought that into this little robot. I cannot wait to make more magical films with this!
